Karyn Verge
Karyn Verge is a retired elementary teacher from Michigan. As a 30 year veteran in the public school system, she brings passion for learning and experience teaching both general education and special education students. She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Language Arts from Hope College, Holland, Michigan, and while teaching, received a Master’s Degree in Education from Western Michigan University.
Karyn also brings 16 years of advocacy experience serving as her local school association president, affiliated with the Michigan and National Education Associations. The working environment for teachers is the learning environment for students. Karyn was a strong advocate for improving the learning environment, appropriate professional development for teachers, and equitable learning conditions for all students.
As an educator, Karyn will be teaching the Pre-Placement Training Program. Knowledge has value. This training course prepares the consumer with the skills necessary to secure the desired job with confidence. She will also serve as office support to the Employment Specialists and their consumers.
