Denise Szulis-Sonnenschein moved to Pasco County, Florida in 1996 from Buffalo, New York. Shortly after, she began working with the New Port Richey Marine Institute transitioning youthful offenders back into society by providing workforce skills and counseling. Denise was also the program manager for the Youth Workforce Program through Career Central.

She began working with Vocational Rehabilitation clients in 2014 with Placement Solutions. She has provided wrap around services to clients, always remembering that our clients are people with unique talents and challenges. She has always treated our clients with dignity, compassion and respect. She is a certified trainer for Retail Management/Customer Service and Safe Food Handler. Denise holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and overall has worked within our community assisting disabled and at risk populations of Pasco, Pinellas, Hernando and Collier Counties for 20 years.

Denise has also been recognized by the Pasco County Sheriff’s office and the Alliance for Substance Abuse Prevention (ASAP) for her work with addiction and awareness. She was Vocational Employee of the year and has received multiple other awards and recognitions from community agencies for assisting with mental health, substance abuse and youth workforce initiatives.

She brings experience, knowledge and a strong understanding of individual and community issues and agencies to our clients.
